Luminous artwork
for light-filled living
The coast isn’t just where I paint. It’s where I feel lighter.
I’m Jemma Newman, a Perth watercolour artist inspired by Western Australia's coastline. Through layers of luminous colour, my work explores light, atmosphere and the quiet beauty of places and natural objects that invite us to slow down.
You’ll often find me with my easel at the beach, painting with my feet in the sand at Scarborough, Mettams Pool, Sorrento, Trigg, Fremantle, Cottesloe, Rottnest, and other special coastal locations.

This giant pearl shell is my favourite watercolour palette.
In my Perth studio, you’ll find me surrounded by coastal inspiration and an inspiring shell collection, bringing luminous colours and layers to life.
